Finding the best burger for your buck in HoustonMoontower Inn (Downtown)

Known for their gourmet hot dogs, insider Yelpers know that the burgers steal the show - especially on Wednesdays when they're BOGO.

May is National Burger Month, which is a great reason to find out which Houston restaurants sell some of the best burgers for the value.

If you want a burger buzz, there are dozens of burger spots in the city to choose from. With the help of Yelp, we picked the reviewers' top picks.

First up, The Little Bitty Burger Barn in Northwest Houston, where are the burgers are not so itty bitty.

"Fresh never frozen just the quality of the burger is what the people come for," owner Orlando Delcid.

The burger joint gets rave reviews on their big flavor at a small price on Yelp Houston.

"Yelpers do like to stick to the classic, old school, old fashion. Little Bitty Burger Barn has the value for under $7 you get a burger and fries," said Farrah Akhtar with Yelp Houston.

Another top pick on Yelp is Bubba's Texas Burger Shack. It is actually a shack located under the West Park Tollway near 610 in Southwest Houston. At Bubba's it's all about buffalo burgers. You can order one for $6, while regular beef is $4.75.

"Absolutely delicious, you cannot beat it in Houston for what it is you are walking away with a song and a dance," said burger lover Amanda Brady.

One thing to know is that they don't serve fries, but they are known for their jalapeno potato salad.

Our next stop is Lankford Grocery and Market located in Midtown. First of all, it is not a grocery or market. It's fresh food made to order, and a woman makes everything she can from scratch. Prices start at $5.75 for an old-fashioned and $6.95 for specialty burgers.

"You can't really beat that price," customer Nakita Campbell said.

If you are looking for a deal, Moontower Inn has a BOGO deal.

"Wednesdays is the time to go, or the day of the week to go when they have buy one get one free," Akhtar says.

Out in Cypress, The Shack is a good stop if you have a sweet tooth. Just order the Grease and Weasel -- it's beef, bacon, and cheddar served between two honeybuns.

If you're looking for something exotic, try Sammie's Wild Game Grill in the Heights.

"They have boar burgers, ostrich burgers, venison burgers, they even have a python chili," Akhtar said.

Angus beef burgers at Sammie's start at $7.95.
