Unloaded gun found in backpack at Lamar High School

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- An unloaded gun was found in a backpack at Lamar High School, Houston ISD officials said in a statement.

In the statement, officials say a student found the gun and reported it to the campus officer.

School officials are investigating the incident.

No other details have been released.
