Funeral home mixes up bodies of two deceased women
Two families are distraught after they say a funeral home botched their loved ones on top of each another

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Two families are distraught after they say a funeral home botched their loved ones on top of each another.

Guys the families of 81-year-old Edna Lawson and 89-year-old Pearlie Deason plan to file a lawsuit Friday against Mabrie Memorial Mortuary.

They say not only did the mortuary mix up the women's bodies, but they buried Miss Deason's body in the Lawson's plot -- on top of the body of Miss Lawson's deceased husband!

The lawyer for the families say they were emotionally devastated by the mistake. He says he hasn't received any answers from the mortuary so they're filing a lawsuit.

We reached out Mabrie Memorial Mortuary after business hours and haven't heard back. But we'll be following Friday's filing, so stay with Eyewitness News for the latest details.
